Headed out with another light crowd today, and the Bass were up and hungry for jigs. Hammered jigs and Crocs worked best. Even caught some Blues.
Still seeing good action on the night trips although more shorts keepers right now on the night bite.

We sailed with a light crowd today and put a couple of nice size keeper Striped Bass in the boat. Also released a few fish. All fish were caught on fresh Bunker today. We did not sail last night.
Morning Striker fishing has been off to a slow start. Just one nice Keeper on Saturday and one Bluefish on Sunday. We haven’t sailed the last couple of am trips.
Night fishing has been better, after getting skunked Friday and Saturday night we managed a couple of keepers and some shorts. Sunday night, we also had some short action but no keepers on Monday evenings trip. All fish were caught on sanworms.
Striped Bass season opens 4/15, that this Friday ! The Marilyn Jean IV will begin sailing everyday for Stripers at 6:30 am to 2:40 pm starting Friday 4/15. another flat calm day in the ocean, took a long ride but didn’t find much more than last week. A few Keeper Cod and Ling along with the other regular bottom feeders were caught. Water temps are creeping up so hopefully fish start moving in soon.
Tommorows trip is canceled due to the weather.
Next trips are 3/26 & 3/27 @ 6am.
We sailed this weekend both Saturday and Sunday weather was beautiful and seas were flat calm. As expected the fishing for the species we wanted was slow. Just a couple of keeper Cod, some shorts a few Ling, some Perch and plenty of dogfish made up the catch.
Next weekend we will be sailing a little earlier so we can cover more ground and maybe find a few more fish. So our next trips will be 3/19, 3/20, 3/26 & 3/27 @ 6AM -5 PM.
