Fishing Report: Marilyn Jean IV — Sunday, August 2

Croaker fishing was outstanding today aboard the Marilyn Jean IV, with nonstop action that turned into one-stop shopping. The bite came fast and steady, and it didn’t take long before buckets were full and the crew had room to go looking for something else to chase.

Once the croakers were handled, the boat moved on to porgies and triggerfish, and the change of pace paid off. A couple of nice porgies came over the rail, along with a few quality triggerfish, a species that shows up around structure and wrecks in these waters in late summer and always makes for an interesting catch alongside the usual bottom fish.

Take a look:

Tomorrow, the Marilyn Jean IV is changing things up. The 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. trip will focus specifically on porgies and triggerfish, following today’s success in that same direction, and the crew is looking forward to seeing what else turns up.

Tomorrow’s Schedule

Three trips are running tomorrow, each with its own departure time:

  • 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. targeting porgies and triggerfish.
