Last night’s trip was a tough one. After a couple of productive nights on the striped bass, we headed out expecting more of the same — but the fish had other ideas. We worked multiple spots throughout the night, covering a good stretch of water, and came up mostly empty for the better part of the trip.
The incoming tide finally gave us some life toward the end. We managed to find a couple of fish in the last stretch of the night, but overall it was slow and the fish were scattered. Some nights are like that — the conditions look right, the spots are good, and the fish just aren’t cooperating. A couple of photos from the night:

That’s fishing. We gave it everything we had, never stopped moving, and never stopped looking. Tonight we’re heading back out with fresh areas to try and a different approach. The fish are out there.
The weather tonight is about as good as it gets for a night on the water — comfortable, calm, and clear. If you’ve been on the fence about coming out, this is a good night to pull the trigger. There’s nothing quite like being out on the water after dark with a line in the water and the city behind you.
