The Marilyn Jean IV Passed Its Coast Guard Inspection — and the Season Is Already Underway

Every year before the season gets going, the Marilyn Jean IV goes through its annual Coast Guard inspection. It’s a thorough process — inspectors come aboard, go over the boat from top to bottom, and verify that everything meets federal safety standards before we’re cleared to take passengers out on the water. For a boat that runs as frequently as ours does, that inspection matters.

This year’s inspection went exceptionally well. The inspectors commented on the condition of the boat — the maintenance work we put in over the off-season was visible, and it showed in the results. We passed everything without issue, which is exactly what you want heading into a new season.

Safety has always been the foundation of how we operate at Marilyn Jean Fishing. It’s not something we think about once a year when the inspector shows up — it’s built into how we maintain the boat, how we run our trips, and how we approach every single outing. Passing that inspection with flying colors is a reflection of the work that goes into the Marilyn Jean year-round, not just in the weeks before someone comes to check.

The Season Is Already Underway

With the inspection passed and the final off-season projects wrapped up, the Marilyn Jean IV is BACK! The 2026 season is officially underway, and we’ve been getting back into the rhythm of our trips out of Sheepshead Bay.

If you’ve been missing the open water, now is a great time to get on the calendar. We run morning trips, and will soon be back with night fishing trips and a full range of species-specific charters depending on what’s biting and what time of year it is. The schedule updates regularly, so checking the full calendar is the best way to see what’s available and book your spot.

Private charters are also available for groups, corporate outings, and special events — reach out if you have something in mind and we’ll put together the right trip for you.

Thank You for the Support

To everyone who follows along, sends messages, and keeps coming back season after season — thank you. The Marilyn Jean crew genuinely appreciates the community that has built up around this boat, and we look forward to getting you out on the water this season.

See you out there.
