It should come as no surprise if you’re native to the NYC area, but it’s cold outside. Very cold. On November 30th, we went and fished on Pelican Harbor, braving the wind that thankfully never showed up, for our guests to try to fish the area. It ended up being a lot of work, and our guests were able to find very few keepers – almost all shorts.
It wasn’t the best day overall.
With that in mind, we are also not going to go to Pelican Harbor anymore this season. It is just too cold – both for our guests and for the fish, which are shying away from the freezing waters. We will be fishing in the ocean only from now on, seeking out some of the bigger and better blackfish until the end of the season.
Still, we expect some good fishing and fun outings, even if they are a bit on the chilly side. We have plenty of Green Crabs and White Crabs on board for purchase.
